Background:  The InSight mission involves landing a robot on Mars and using its arm to place instruments on the Martian surface. We have developed software that simulates and visualizes this robot. The software is used to construct, plan, and simulate a sequence of commands before sending it to the robot.
Description:  The project will involve improving the robotic-instrument-placement simulation and visualization software.
Student Requirements:  Required:
- Experience with programming in C++.
- Experience with 3D visualization.
- Knowledge of basic physics.

Suggested:
- Familiarity with the Coin3D visualization library.
Location / Safety:  Project building and/or room locations: . Student will need special safety training: No.
