Project:  Dynamic RNA Nanotechnology for Therapeutic Applications
Disciplines:  Biochemistry, Chemistry
Mentor:  William Goddard, Professor Chem. Mat. Sci., and Appl. Phys., (CCE), wag@wag.caltech.edu, Phone: x3093
Mentor URL:  http://www.wag.caltech.edu  (opens in new window)
Background:  The Goddard lab is developing programmable molecular switches that can sense and respond to disease indicating biochemical signals in mammalian cells. These switches have applications as next generation therapeutics for currently intractable disease conditions.
Description:  We are looking for a summer student to help with development and testing of molecular switch based therapeutics. The student will work with our group in rational design of molecular switches and collaborate with Prof. John Rossi‚Äôs lab at City of Hope in experimental testing of switches on diseases models.
