SURF@JPL: Announcements of Opportunity
Announcements of Opportunity are posted by JPL technical staff for the SURF@JPL program. Each AO indicates whether or not it is open to non-Caltech students. If an AO is NOT open to non-Caltech students, please DO NOT contact the mentor.
Announcements of Opportunity are posted as they are received. Please check back regularly for new AO submissions!
**Students applying for JPL projects should complete a SURF@JPL application instead of a "regular" SURF application.
**Students pursuing opportunities at JPL must be U.S. citizens or U.S. permanent residents.

Background: | The EXCALIBUR science data pipeline provide large-scale, event-driven, high-agility, uniform data processing and analysis for multi-instrument, multi-mission science observations of exoplanets. EXCALIBUR saves all intermediate data products to maintain the chain of inference. Processing instances are tied to specific GitHub change sets for reproducibility. EXCALIBUR is implemented in Docker containers for operation in a cluster or cloud environment.
Description: | Develop and implement data product quality metrics that can be tracked through the data reduction process. Implement a data product rating system based on specific data quality metrics and machine-learning classifier. Implement aggregated metrics to provide across the catalog views on pipeline performance.
