Students pursuing opportunities at JPL must be U.S. citizens or U.S. permanent residents.
Each AO indicates whether or not it is open to non-Caltech students. If an AO is NOT open to non-Caltech students, please DO NOT contact the mentor.

|Project:||Simulation for robotic placement of instruments|
|Background:||The InSight mission involves landing a robot on Mars and using its arm to place instruments on the Martian surface. We have developed software that simulates and visualizes this robot. The software is used to construct, plan, and simulate a sequence of commands before sending it to the robot.|
|Description:||The project will involve improving the robotic-instrument-placement simulation and visualization software.|
- Experience with programming in C++.
- Experience with 3D visualization.
- Knowledge of basic physics.
- Familiarity with the Coin3D visualization library.
