Please remember:

  • Students pursuing Amgen must be U.S. citizens, U.S. permanent residents, or students with DACA status.
  • Students pursuing Amgen must complete the 10-week program from June 18 - August 23, 2024. Students must commit to these dates. No exceptions will be made.
  • Accepted students must live in provided Caltech housing.

Project:  Pioneer Centre for AI in Denmark

Background:  NOTE: The following projects are offered by Caltech alumni and their associates at the Pioneer Centre. These projects are open only to Caltech students and will be conducted in Denmark at either the University of Copenhagen, IT University of Copenhagen, or the University of Aalborg.
Description:  The following labs and research groups are members of the Pioneer Centre for Artificial Intelligence, a five-university resaerch institution in Denmark. Contact the scientist in charge if you are interested.

1. Belongie Lab - https://www.belongielab.org/

Location: University of Copenhagen
Research areas: Computer vision and machine learning - fine grained analysis of multimodal data, self-supervised learning, misinformation detection, 2D/3D generative models

2. NERDS (NEtwoRks, Data, and Society) - https://nerds.itu.dk/
Mentor: Vedran Sekara - vsek@itu.dk
Location: IT University of Copenhagen
Research areas: We are an interdisciplinary group of researchers who focus on quantitative projects at the boundary of network science, data science, and computational social science, including science of science, social networks and dynamics, multiplex networks, science of success, urban sustainability, human mobility, data visualization, and fundamental questions in complex systems.

3. Visual Analysis and Perception Lab - https://vap.aau.dk/

Location: University of Aalborg
Research areas: Computer Vision - responsible AI, underwater vision, super resolution, sports, visual slam, uncertainty
