Background: |
The JPL Earth Science Section carries out experimental research in atmospheric chemical processes including kinetics and photochemistry. The research focuses on the sources and fate of pollution in the atmosphere. In particular, on the photochemical oxidation of atmospheric volatile organic compounds (VOCs) which has major implications for urban and regional air quality, acid deposition, and global climate.

Description: |
The research will involve lab studies to improve our understanding of the rates and mechanisms of atmospheric reactions that affect air quality, stratospheric ozone depletion and radiative forcing. Participants will work with JPL staff members, postdocs and graduate students to acquire and analyze lab data, and assist in writing peer-reviewed publications
